Hi everyone!
Been as slow slow week this week!  I have a good laugh for you this morning.
I make lunches for my husband and son at 4 am every morning as I get them out the door. Well we have been getting micro meal lately for something different than sandwiches. of course they don't like the same ones so they have to be marked to give the right ones !  Well yesterday at lunch time I got a texted message from my son mad at me "Why did I bother to mark my meals mom if you still give me the wrong ones!"

needless to say I wasn't very pleased with him as I Know I checked before I pulled them from the freezer.so I wrote him back to that affect. then I got this message and photo back from him  (You have to love technology!!)

Yup I sent the wrong one! the letter K I thought I saw was a pair of scissors on the box!!! I guess I need my glasses in the mornings!!!









I have been working a little this week on my sister-in-laws quilt but have alot to go yet  and worked on some hand sewing but mostly I got the new boms blocks for this month ready for applique.  I have all the material cut out and turned and pinned the only one I have left to do is Esthers forget me knot for this month. I have the pattern traced to freezer paper but I haven't picked my material yet hopefully I will get to that today.

I have been busy this week, My husband has been working late hours so I have gotten a lot  of sewing done.
I worked on my mini quilts for this year and sewed them together.

printed out my BOM so far this month and traced to freezer paper. today I hope to get them ready for sewing but we will see.

Then I have been working on the quilt for my brother and sister-in-law.  I have to cut more white strips today to finish the border then I will have to decide on what to put where !!



















I made little beds for Gizmo to sleep on for the winter I promised her a while back to replace her little quilt after the big girls ruined it on her but I just now got to it!! I made a small mattress then a quilt for the basket then a small quilt for under her hidy hole  and an extra pillow for the floor. now I just need to get a move on and make some warm jackets for winter for them all. I never would have thought I would be putting coats on big dogs but we ended up with two dogs with hardly any hair and they really feel the cold and I don't want to have to keep going to the vet this winter!!

 






I have a pile of hand sewing ready for the weekend now. I can't use my machine during football so I have to have plenty of hand sewing to keep me going!! I have a small net book that I can sit and watch show on so I set it up on a table in front of me while I work with a pair of headphones ! that way I don't bother the husband!!works pretty good. well I hope you all have a great week.

Oh and my new used fridge works great now and the ac is fixed and works better than it did before!! waiting for a call back from the repair people for a price on the two bathrooms. I will be glad to get them fixed up finally. hopefully before x-mas then just the livingroom floor to be redone again this year  so we will see how it goes.

September!!

What a month this has already been!!  I swear if I didn't have rotton luck I wouldn't have any!!!
We will have to be very careful this next New Year to see who is our first footer!!

My husband was off from Friday until Tuesday for Labor Day weekend. We had so much planned. L.O.L

You guessed it nothing went accordingly!!!

Went to get the title and regestration don on all the vehicles only got the tags for one done. Son had to take off work early to get his title work filled out and go back with it. Husband had to go to his parents house 2 hour drive one way to get his title work completed!! He planned to stay the night there and son went to Spring Texas with friends for the night. Should have been a nice quite night right!! Had my bath with lovely bubbles and a glass of wine read a few chapters of my book then went to bed.
About two hours later my little Gizmo woke me and the girls ( dogs and cats!!) up barking and nipping me.
I turned my light on and the room was filled with smoke and the smell was awful. The blower motor on my A/c unit caught fire and the fire alarms went off a few minutes later. Had to have the fire department to the trailer and the neighbour came and helped me with the animals. Luckily it was just the motor and the fumes were sucked through the trailer. So I had to call my husband and tell him to come home in case it caught up again. I was here with no car  of course!!Kyle came home as well.

My husband took the blower apart himself and they ordered the parts couldn't get them until tuesday.
So we had to put the  window units back in but only one still worked. Luckily my friend had her small one for hurricane time and let us borrow it for the bedroom.

It gets better!

Saturday night my Husband goes to his friends down the road for beer and to play pool. Thought I would have a quite night this time. went to bed got up at 11 when I realized he wasn't home yet. Let the dogs out to bathroom and a creature ran in the house!!  It was only about 2 inches long but It was weird looking!!
I thought I had a lizard and I went chasing it down the hall wall (I didn't have my glasses on!) When I caught up to it I saw it had spikes all over it and a whipping tail with a spike like a scorpion thank goodness I didn't catch it in my hands!! I still don't know what kind of critter it was! I of course made the mistake of calling down to my husband and asking if it was safe to pick i t up. Yup the men thought it was hillarious. So down to the house they all come (don't know how they could even walk to get here!!) and I had three grown men looking all through the hall to find it. They found it , Left it and ran!!! They didn't know what it was either but
the tail kept trying to strike  them . Guess I wasn't so dumb after all.!
Happily I found it have eaten the next day in the cats area they caught it and killed it.

The next morning I go to the fridge to get milk out and the fridge was warm. You got it  the fridge went out!!
So we had to find a fridge as my one was filled with groceries. we just shopped the other day and had a bunch of meat in it as we planned a bbq.  Out came the ice chests and down to the store for ice my son went.
A short time later we get a call Dad come get me my tires are flat...................  Mind you not one tire oh no three!
He went through a section of road where an accident had happend and bust three tires!
So now we had to find a fridge and three new tires!!~ and Ac parts  .
In stepped the neighbours and family so they helped us get everything taken care of.
Yesterday the parts for the ac came  and my husband got it put back together. He woke me up  in the middle of the night wanting his quilt as he was cold!!

Yesterday was really a nice day I cleaned the house up re loaded the fridge and then was able to sit and finally get some hand applique done. I finished three more small wall tops for Grandma and started on the fourth only one more to go.

Then I can catch up on August BOMs and make a start on Septembers.  I haven't gotten any more of my Crinoline done either so I will really have to make myself sit and work on it this month.

Wow this week has gone by fast!!
I have actually gotten a lot done this past week. I decided to sort my wips to see what I still had to get done this year.  I have so much that I didn't get finished!! I need to sit today and make a new list !!! Don't you just love lists!@!

I made a set of cushion covers for my Aunt in Scotland and got them mailed I mailed a small wall quilt already to my Grandmother for a lady that  does her housework for her ( home help career) then another one for my cousin that has been very good about looking in on her for us. I thought I had finally finished  the overseas projects and could get a move on and catch up my crinoline for my friend when I got a call from Grandma to ask if I would make some more quilts as she thought of some others she would like to give gifts for !!! The total so far is 5 more wall quilts with her thinking of others over the next few days!!!

So I sat on monday from  6 am until 5 pm and dragged out all my project boxes and started cutting backings and batting to go with boms that I have from this year and then cut extra quilts for her and got them all ready to sew. by last night I finally got the applique caught up with the starch and turning ready to be sewn this weekend.  Today I need another cutting day to get three more quilts re cut  as she decided they can't be x-mas patterns!! she now wants year round quilts thank goodness they are mini quilts but I tell you I'm tired of looking at birdhouses !!!!I will have to dig for a different pattern for applique today!!

 I finished Esthers bom  block for July this week as well and have all the freezer paper drawn on but I haven't picked ,my material yet hopefully this week.  I have all my other boms blocks pinned and ready to hand sew now all in a box by my sitting chair hopefully there is some good movies on this weekend!!

I love wednesday mornings!! I'm sitting having a cup of tea and reading blogs! It's so relaxing after a hectic week.

Daisy and Maggie are doing great. Daisy had her eye removed and spayed  and Maggie was spayed as well.
Daisy is up and playing again now and dosen't even seem to realize it is gone.  Mind you she is extremely spoiled now!! I have been sitting in the bedroom most of the week with her  and the other furry family members If Daisy says lay down then lay down we go!! I will have to spend the next few months re adjusting her to who is boss!!

I have gotten a lot of hand sewing done this week. I am working on Esthers forget me knot from last month at the moment and I have the tracing done for this months I picked the magnolia to do. Esther I hope you are feeling some better now and thank you for putting out the blocks at the moment when you have been so ill.

I have completed two mini quilts and gotten them mailed to my grandmother in Scotland , pinned applique pieces to boms for this month all ready to sew.
Now to get my house tidied today and I can sit and watch tv shows and hand sew some more.
I hope everyone has a great week and thank you for all your prayers and notes over this last week it is really so nice and comforting to know someone is out there who cares even if we have never met in person.

Not much done this week again so far! 

I have been working on my crinoline picture I am now ready to work on the dress and hat!  Do yo think I will get it done before x-mas!!

I put it aside again while working on some projects to send overseas to my grandmother. She has been having some family and friends that have gone above and beyond to help so I have been making thank you gifts.  I am working on a small wall quilt now for my 3rd cousin Him and his wife have really helped  a lot

the last year. I have the  applique nearly done hopefully I will get it done today then sew it together I need to mail it by saturday so I will have to really crack down today and get it finished.  Then I need to work on my sister-in-laws lap quilt.




I spent yesterday morning working on some of this months BOMs I have three of them cut out and started to starch and turn edges ready for sewing . and I finished two from last month.























Today my son will be taking our dog daisy to the eye specialist to try and save her eye. we have been told she has the begining  of glacouma  she's not even two yrs old yet. so we will see what the new dr has to say. it is nearly a hour and half drive one way to take her and alot of money but he wants to make sure he has done what he can for her. she was spoiled before but now she is really spoiled!! she tells me when she wants to go lay down and expects me to join her. it is 5.30 am here right now and I have been up getting everyone off to work she is pawing at my arms and feet trying to get me to go back to bed now!! I will have to lay down with her after kyle leaves for work I think it is the drops she gets in the morning.

I haven't done much this week!  I had a bunch of hand sewing set up for doing while watching the olympic games but I didn't get much done!!  but thats ok the games have been good. I did get these place mats finished up for x-mas

 I finished the country cottage bom for July












  Oh and I cut this piece of material to make a new cover for the dog bed. bought it the other week and in 15 mins it was in pieces in the livingroom!!

my material came for the quilt I am making for my sister-in-law for x-mas  but it will all have to wait now until the games are nearly over!!
