Good Morning!  Wednesday got here fast!  I actually got some things done this week. 

I finished my April Funky Chicken block,











Finished  my Country Cottage block for April

Finished Marchs Forget me knot block

Started my April Forget me know Block with a little help from my babies!! Salvador (white ) and Mocha!










I put together the first row of my Raspberry Rabbit quilt and got the April Block all ready to sew.

I also got my April Country Junktion mini quilt ready to sew. This one I had to rip out and re do yesterday ! I got caught up in the tv show and sewed the waves on upside down and I had already sewn the sides on before I realized it!!

I even worked a little on my crinoline embroidery but put it away until later next month as the last two dogs are in the first heat cycle at last and they want to sit on my lap and get babied all the time so I don't want to take any chances.

This last weekend my husband was off work so he worked in the yard getting the grass cut and de buggged!!
He worked a little in the back area clearing some more of the storm damage  then he got stung repeatedly by something and was all welted up around his neck and face.  So he shut it down for the weekend and we lazed around the house watching movies and eating pizza and junk food!! Yes my diet was thrown out the window for this week!! But I will get back to it this week and watch what I do this weekend!!

I even managed a little time in between to finish Kelly Armstrongs new book. I have a few other good books sitting waiting on me to read them I have been trying to take breaks and go outside to my swing and let the dogs run for awhile so I am reading while they are out. But when the neighbours dogs show up we have to go back inside.  I have the dogs and the kitten scheduled to be spayed in June ( cheap month!) so hopefully Daisy won't go back into heat before I get her there!She was in heat Dec 1st so heres hoping.

Well now that I have bored you all I will go and get some washing done and household stuff so I can sit later and hand sew and watch a movie. I have tried to get into a routine so we will see if it works.

Morning everyone!  It is a really pretty morning out here today. I have my windows open for a little while to let in the fresh air. I t will get too hot in a few hours so I will enjoy it while I can so will the cats!!

I have been steady working on cutting material this week.  I decided that I had to cut the rest of the material out for the house a day project so I can just pick  up and work on it when I feel like it.   I should be ashamed of myself as I have only got TWO completed blocks so far and I do mean so far for the year!! I have asked around on my face book page for help from family and friends to get more material scraps I am trying to have every section different material but so far only a few of them have gave me any. I thought it would be nice to have a family and friend memory quilt. I have put the pieces I have cut from their material into envelopes with the persons name on it so when I sew them I will put the initials on that block.

I finished a UFO of a lap quilt and got it back from the quilter the other day.  She did a great job on it. 
I mailed it to the uk to my aunt as she wanted one from me.  I had to roll it and squeesh it into a big bubble envelope. the post office wanted $60. to mail it in their box and $18. to mail it in the envelope.  I told her when she gets it to be careful opening it as there was no extra space in the bag!!

I spent Monday (all day)  working with the new ipods getting them set up and music loaded into them for everyone. That was interesting as no one helped me they just left piles of music beside the computer that they each wanted on the machines!! I think I have them all working now so they are on their own from now on!!

I had to give my little Gizmo a hair cut yesterday well a hair trim. poor thing looks like my hair now squint!!
she wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get her bangs cut straight and the more I tried the worse it got.
I told her better luck next time!! At least she can see  now!!
I am waiting to get my first block done for the mystery bom I have the freezer paper done but I can't get to my material until my son moves car parts around in his room( they are in boxes!!)
Hopefully this sunday I can pick my applique material. and do them next week.
The thread came this week for my crinoline embroidery so I will have to fit that in this week as well I have gotten really far behind on it.
My husband is getting ready to do a 40+ day job at work waiting to see if it will be 10 hour days or more so I will get alot of work done then as I get to keep my table set up all week long he just comes in showers eats and sleeps so it won't be in his way.!! 
He worked on the back yard the other day and came in with my birdfeeder he said he touched the pole and it fell over cement block and all out of the ground. the drought last year now the water this year it didn't stand a chance!! he has to take down my old clothes poles this weekend and put me up a new set the wood rotted at the bottom but it lasted over 18 years so I can't complain!

WIP 3.21.12

HI again.

Not too much this week. I have been working on Marchs blocks and my little houses.I was sick in bed on Monday and yesterday we had so much storms we kept loosing power so I didn't get much done like I wanted.

I did work on my crinoline picture a little yesterday but I found I was missing the thread for the gate. I have hunted everywhere but I guess the     dogs took it outside or ate it like everything else lately!! I will be glad when they are out of the puppy stage!! I re ordered my thread last night so have to wait to get it  before I can do much more.

                                                                                                                                                                         
I finished my cottage  and have most of my r.rabbit done just need the embroidery on it  will get that today.
 well hope you all have  a great week will write next week hopefully I will have more done!

well this is a better week so far.  My brother will be laid to rest on thursday with military honors.It will be just his kids in attendance as he requested it that way.  Seems strange not talking to him everyday on the phone. But I still talk to him in my mind.  Thank you for all the well wishes.

I have kept busy this week had to have something in my hands to work on!! I finished sewing the feb/march and nearly finished jan mini quilts  well the tops anyhow. I have also got the march block ready for county cottages. I also finished my funky chicken for march.

We had a whole lot of rain this past weekend as you can see our yard went under! luckily it didn't stay long by the next day most was down only a few sections still holding water(.before and during photos)

 I had bought a new chair and ottoman  worked out good now if I can claim it back from the cats I will have it made!!
I'm all ready for Esthers bom tomorrow really looking forward to it. I loved the color on the leaves she posted today! This is a box of hand dyed material my husband bought for me for my early birthday I didn't have material for flowers so I will be able to use some of this!
 My son is going to look at a used car for me on thursday. If it runs good we will share it. So here's hoping. I only need a car a few days a month for what I want to do so he will have it the rest of the time. Hope it works out.!!

Well today is a off day for me. My brother passed away last night  he was 55yrs old.I need to keep busy so decided I would still blog today. It's nice knowing that someone is out there to talk to.

well lets see this week I finished a ufo quilt it's at the finishers now so I will post pic later.

I found out that I hadn't sewn my applique for Jan and Feb mini quilts!! so I got them all pinned plus marches all ready to sew today.  It will keep my mind off of everything       here is a really pretty song  that was sent to me this morning.  .http://youtu.be/P7IbQyG9PL4 

My material is all ready for Esthers bom just waiting for my applique material to arrive.

Hi everyone!

Yeah new Bom posted!! I have been in all my stash to re pick material. I was about 4" short on my other materials so decided to try again . I have decided on these but wasn't sure on the white on white background what do you think?

My husband has treated me to some hand dye fabrics for the flowers and stems ect I don't have much stash here anymore so I get to buy new for this project (well for the flowers!!)  the border will pick up about any flower color  I hope. 
I have been working like crazy this week to catch up my other boms so I will be ready to go again tomorrow!
I completed two of the Raspberry rabbits and nearly finished two cozy cottages

I just have a little sewing left for the feb one and the buttons to put on shouldn't take me long today to do it. 
Some of my fabric arrived for the Dear Jane quilt so I need to re sort my boxes and drawer and make sure I don't use material for another bom   by accident!  I think now that I have the forget me nots  getting ready that should be all the quilting this year.  I have 4 boms started (this years) and three scrap quilts to hand sew and cut in between then all the projects that need finishing from the other year to be done in between this years ones. I figure if I do one a month I should get them done before x-mas  mind you I haven't committed to which year !!
well I need to get going now kyle has gone to work now so I need to get material ironed and cut ready to go.

Hi everyone!
Well I'm better now. still have a sore knee section but feels a lot better than it did.

I;m back to sewing now. Hubby is working late all week and I will have the house to my self until late at night
so my son set up my table again for me and helped drag out all my boxes and drawers.

Yesterday I sat and put material with new boms  and cut background fabric for them I wanted to make sure I had enough material for what I needed.  Then I got the applique for the blocks ironed on and started cutting just need to starch and turn today on some of them. 

I decided to try my hand at a Dear Jane Quilt although I think I might be crazy! but I decided to make it for my son. I joined a DJ list and they were very helpful about the material I would need so I went back to ebay and ordered enough material for the background and boarders that way I don't run out later.
I sat at my table last night and really looked at the boxes and things sitting around and realized I DID IT AGAIN!  TOO MANY BOMS AT ONE TIME!  I promised myself that I would finish the other years projects first but as you ladies know it is so tempting!!
I finally had to be ruthless and put a few of my want to do projects back again until later in the year so I can finish my started ones and keep up with this years !
I picked out my fabric for Esthers BOM I will purchase it when I get first bom supply list.  I am really looking forward to it but am glad it is a little late starting as I wasn't ready yet!!

Well I had better get going need another cup of tea then I want to watch a movie marathan today while I work think I will cut out the borders for my sons wedding quilt good thing he isn't engaged yet!! I thought I better give myself plenty of time to get one made and store it for when it does happen just in case I can't hand sew anymore by then!! Hope you all have a great week!
