Finally the rain has stopped for a little while here. We have had rain off and on for the last week steady the ground needed it but it has been hard having all the dogs in all day long!! Today they are outside playing and loving every minute of it.I went outside early this morning and feed the geese and the chickens now to get my table set up for today's sewing. I'm ashamed to say I gave in to my BOM's this month and put aside my crinoline embroidery to work on them!! I don't think I will ever get it finished at this rate!!!MY friend  came over the other week to see it so at least she liked what I had done so far. My son laughs and tells me she might get it by 2016 at the speed I'm going.  Only a few more months until x-mas I really really need to get it done this year!!

Ester's blocks are really nice this month I have the flowers ready for placement and sewing but the leaves I decided to try and sew the veins on I have never done that before so thought I would see how it works. now just to get some green thread to do it with.

 I made a top for a x-mas wall quilt

Lets see this week I have pinned the pieces on the Raspberry rabbit bom

pinned pieces for country junktion bom

pinned pieces for country cottages bom and started to sew them on

pinned pieces on the funky chicken bom

I stuffed the pillow I made for my grandmothers friend and got it packaged up and mailed I hope they like it.

Well I hope you all have a great week and for those that are sick or have loved ones that are hurt or sick best wishes and prayers.

July is flying by!! I just realized it is almost time for Esthers new block and I haven't gotten my other blocks for this month done yet!!  I have been working on my crinoline picture it sure is slow work now. I have the gate nearly done then onto the dress this weekend

.  My Grandmother is finally home from the hospital in sctoland. She is getting carer's now so she can stay in her own place. My sister-in-law is over there now checking on her and her own mother. Grandma is 95 yrs  well 96 the end of July. Her hip has finally healed enough that she can get around some with a walker but thats it.

I made a cushion  out of two blocks I had sitting around. I washed it yesterday and today I will stuff and close it up then get it packaged to mail off to her. she asked me to make something for a friend that has been helping her. Yesterday I made another 2  small quilt tops  and got all the freezer paper patterns drawn and cut for  some BOM's I will try to get the material done today for them.

We have another new family member this week. My son rescued a puppy the other day. He saw someone throw it out a car window and stopped and picked it up.  So now we have a little BOY to add to all the GIRLS  thank God we have the girls already scheduled to be spayed on the 27th of this month!! that now gives us 5 dogs and 4 cats, 1 bearded dragon, 1 newt and two turtles, geese, chickens and 1 duck and gold fish in the pond!!!  Most of the critters are very old now except the dogs and two cats  who knew chickens could live so long!!! the newt has been with us for 17 yrs now I swear he has "died" so many times now that it is something else living in the tank!! I keep thinking it is dead and move him around and bam he comes back!!!

We have had rain the last few days here and expect more all the week long so will have to mop floors a few more times this week!!
Well I will get a move on now I have to get Kyle up for work soon. Have a great week everyone!!

Oh ps we called the pup Cletus (means pray in greek so the name book says!) and Maggie has adopted him she thinks he is her pup! Gizmo not sure if she like him yet she was maggies best buddy until cletus came along!!

We have had finally had some rain here. the ground needed it but boy has the grass sproutted up tall!!
I need to get my garden weeded soon and put new mulch and plastic dow so the weeds will stay down poor Gizmo gets lost in the tall grass and flowers!!

Well I finally caught up my boms!!  I finished the forget me knot block for June yesterday  I'm not sure I like the top flower but will have to look at it awhile and decide if I will do anything else to it.

I finished  my raspberry rabbit june

funky chicken - june

country cottages - june

country junktion -  june

then I started to work on my june house blocks . today I plan on sewing the border parts on my funky chicken and raspberry rabbit then cut out the bottom sections for the house blocks so I can get the complete blocks caught up for jan-june so far I have half the bottoms and the complete tops done so just need to take the time and get the work done!!
when friday gets here I will clean the house for the weekend and then start  work on my crinoline picture again and work only with that for the rest of the month. Hopefully I can get it finished or at least nearly finished. As A friend said to me yesterday " You do know christmas is only 6 months away!!"  needless to say I haven't gotten this years lap quilts made for gifts or the place mats I wanted to make done!! I will have to take a whole month and do nothing but cut and sew tops to get quilted for christmas. I 'm meantt to be making a baby quilt and 4 lap quilts by then so heres hoping!!

Well I need to go now and get the  daily house work done my son wakes up in 1/2 hour for work then I have the place to myself until night  hopefully I will get something done today!  Have a great week !!

Yesterday I worked on my June blocks for other boms and got them ready for applique

Ive already got my day cleaning done this morning so I can sit all day and sew!  My little girls are all ready for a movie marathan ( they like the snacks!!) so a few more things to get ready and  then I can take it easy the rest of the day!!

5.30.12

Hi everyone!  I can't believe that May is nearly over. I am so so far behind on my crinoline lady picture it is terrible!  I will have to just work on that over the weekend and nothing else until I get her done!! It was for x-mas last year then for her birthiday in July this  year  so maybe I can still meet that deadline!!

I have been taking new medicine from the Drs now so feeling better now just have to get the last pills straight and I will be good to go.  I am so glad to have my hand pill back what a difference it makes to working!
I have been real slow this month getting my monthly BOM's done I finished the country cottages

then I finished my Funky Chicken
then I completed the Raspberry Rabbits
then I finished my April  block for Esthers forget me knots and got the May block drawn out on freezer paper. hopefully today I will get the material ready to go!

then I finally finished my mini quilt for May

I have already cleaned house for this week and have only a few more loads of wash to do so I can work on my quilting today can anyone say movie marathan!!  I think I will put on the lord of the rings marathan today and tomorrow that should keep me going!  I've watched them so many times I can always look back up and know what is happening!!
We had to change the date for  spaying the girls to July as the vet changed his cheap dates from june to july I'm glad I called to verify dates for next month or I would not have known and believe me the difference is a lot with  5 girls going at the same time!!  Poor Daisy , our bassett hound is in heat again now but hopefully she will be the last one I don't think any more will go into heat before July ends. Now if I can just get the neighbour to pick up his hunting beagles I will be doing good!! They are driving me crazy! they found out about daisy again yesterday and have been trying to find a way into the yard off and on since then! She's no better the little Hussy  she sits by the corner of the fence and barks for him!! Now I remember why we always got males before!!! But we love them all and as they say This to shale pass!!

Well I hope you all have a great sewing week . Good Health to you all.

WIP 5.16.12

Another week! I haven't got much done this time.  I have been working on Esthers forget me knot for April. I have nearly finished sewing it and have the pattern picked and on freezer paper for Mays block.  Slow going right now!!(Lazy would be the proper word!!)

I had a lovely Mothers day weekend it was also my birthday so I had a double whammy!! My son and his girlfriend gave me a lovely White John F Kennedy Rose bush for the garden. I used to have a yellow rose bush that my mother had given me but it died suddenly this year , One day it had lovely blumes  and the next week it was a stick figure dead dead dead! I have the new rose bush planted where I can see it from my window everyday. I want to get some more rose bushes to plant where the small pond was but maybe later in the month I will get the dirt and mulch to get the garden worked on.

I have gotten my May blocks all ready to sew I will be able to just sit in the eveninng and get them done a little at a time.  I have been working on m y crinoline lady picture this past week it is slow going. I ran out of pills for my hands and the dr won't refill until I go see him so will have to go this friday with hubby and get all my blood work done and get my refills done.  He won't be happy when he sees me this time as my body really looks swollen now He will probably put me back on all the different pills again. I will be like a baby rattle again!! shake me and I'll jingle!!!

I did get some new photos taken this weekend as well I'll put them on here but please excuse the weight I look terrible in these but they are better than the last ones taken!! at least you can see some of the lovely blumes in the garden this year.

well I will go now and get some more work done,. Have a great and happy sewing week!!
ps new picture of my Gizmo!

WIP 5.2.12

How can it be May already!! I'm not ready for it!!

I am still working on Esther's forget me knots from April. I have it all ready to sew but I haven't had the peace to get to it or much else this week!!

My husband was home at the weekend and we didn't get much done. we tried but no luck he was on a jump from one project to the next and nothing completed day!!  He did finally get our garden pond cleaned and re filled with the fountain finally put back on. unfortunately the fish all died of shock!! WE will have to get some more from the bait shop and re fill pond!

I have my funky chicken block printed out  and the mini quilt for may all ready to get sewn just have to machine sew the background and it will be ready to go.
I sat and realized today after looking at everyone Else's projects that I will have more UFOs this year if I'm not careful!!  I have found that the house a day and my embroidery are getting left to the roadside lately so I have decided that I will get blocks ready to sew and put in baggies but work only on the embroidery until it is finished then I will take a few days (or weeks at this rate!) and sew only on the house a day quilt to get caught up then I will go back to work on the other blocks.  I have my swing set up outside now and can sit out in the summer for a while everyday and work on the blocks if I have them ready to go they will be easy to grab and work on. Next year I will really have to be more careful what I pick to work on at a time but they all looked so fun to do this year!!  I still have my UFO pile to work on later as well I might manage to get some of it done after I get the rest caught up.

We lost another chicken the other day to old age. we are finally down to 6 in the front pen and 8 in the back and 4 geese  when the rooster  and duck die in the back pen we will combine the rest together in the front for easier care.  I didn't know chickens lived so long! my son raised them while he was in school for (home school)
animal husbandry and that's been about 10-11 yrs now he made good money on his eggs but now they are just pets. they earned it!!

Well I need to get a move on today so have a great week everyone!
