It doesn't look like much when I show them here but it did take me awhile to get done!!!Today I am waiting for my new laptop to come fedex. Hubby got it as an early birthday and mothers day for me which isn't until May but couldn't beat the price!!  I hope I will be able to figure it out as it has windows 8 and I have heard talk about it being complicated  so here's hoping!!  We got cherry red so hopefully my son won't take off with it!!   I did get all my finished quilt tops into the quilter as well so can't wait to get them back.  I bought some cat panels the other day from ebay as well enough to make a lap quilt for myself looking forward to getting that in the mail as well.

Well I hope you all have a great week I need to get my house in order today before I can start anymore hand work today.   Have a great one.

W.I.P March 20 2013

Hi everyone!

I have finally been able to get my house in order again these past few weeks so now I am back to working on my crafts!!

This week I have gone back over my UFO list I have a few more that I have found this month to add and a couple finally done!!

I finished this one of my sons. He started this wall quilt years ago when he had more time to do h is quilting but he never had time to finish it so he asked me to do it for him so he could hang it in his room.  It came out pretty good ! He designed it himself and he did the top and had the back already half done so I just had to do the finishing and  tying then put on a sleeve.

This is a wonderful set of egg holders that I recieved from my swap buddy for March !  Aren't they cute! they have little bug buttons on them all as well.

I have been working on my granny square swap for april already as well only two more of them to get finished unless anyone else signs up before they are do!!

Well hope you all have a great week.!!

Last week of February 2013

Two months done already! This year is going fast.  I am badly behind on my sewing this year!!

I have had a lot of heath issues here lately so have not been posting. Feeling some better at the moment so am trying to get caught back up on everything.

Ok I have completed  my tulip block and have nearly finished sewing my bleeding hearts then I have the daisies to embroider  I found a couple of small tears in my material don't know how they got there but had to cover them with a bug!  so I think I might have to go back to my other blocks and add embroidery surprises to some of them so the last few won't look  out of place. I have the material all ready for the next block but still have to work on the latest one.

I decided that I won't be doing any more large size quilts anymore as I can't sit for long periods bending putting pressure on stomach area  so I thought I would try my hand at counted cross stitch.  One of the groups I have joined has a sew along every month and I fell in love with the idea of a picture a month on a single material. basically a calender of pictures.   well I remebered why I didn't stick to it when I was younger!!
I have the two snowmen done now just two more to stitch  then I can go onto the next picture.
They came out really small  I would need to work on bigger sized pictures!
I signed up for bom  from Country Cottage  they have the cutest santa village blocks I really want to make them so I will have to persevere and get used to cross stitch. They also had a set with sheep I couldn't resist.

Nothing like plunging into the deep end !! I figured in the summer months I would be able to sit out on my swing and sew a little every day.

This past week my  friends  came and planted two crype myrtle trees in my garden section for me to enjoy in the coming months I thought they would be little starter trees but they turned out to be nearly 9 ft tall!  I hope they will live I don't know the colors yet they said it would be a surprise ( he lost track of what was what when he dug them all up!!)  They gave a few other friends some as well this year I will take pictures of them when they bloom.  My son is meant to work on my garden for me this next month and get it all ready for me to enjoy this year. We are putting the bbq pitt closer to the area so we can have a family section. As you can see our garden isn't what it used to be. I miss all the flowers and wild life we had but we had to down size when we weren't able to care for it anymore. Hopefully once Kyle finishes fixing it back up it will look a lot better.

I finished my ranchers daughter block for the other week and last week now just this weeks to get done and  I'll be caught back up with this one.

I have wanted to tell you all I have greatly enjoyed your blogs the last few months. When I needed a pick me up  I would come back and go through them again and again I always found something new each time!!
Blessing on you all.

Jennifer

Ok here is an update!  I caught up all the ranchers daughters blocks

and I finished the Bleeding Hearts and have the next ones pinned and ready to go!

01.29.13

Well not too much this week life as they say got in the way of quilting!!

I did manage to get my applique pieces for mug rugs ready for pinning and sewing.

I have all my Forget me not blocks caught up , well the applique prep work anyway!! I am waiting until supper bowl  day to sew them while the game is on!!

Resorted the sitting room/sewing room .

I needed to get my material and wool organized too much all over the house! it made room in the hall closet for storage now so only a bit more to move into the other room.  I still have to finish going through my material drawers and sorting fat quarters onto shelve.

I started a quilt top ufo that I  figured out today had been sitting for at least 5 years!!

I couldn't find the pattern with directions for it but I found my note showing the block with the sizes on it but no color alotment!! so I  took a chance and started sewing it together !  I have a few rows completed of the blocks  just another 3 rows and they have some green in them I will try to get it done before next week to show you it finished.  I must have made a lap quilt like this before for someone but I can't remember who!!!

I did get the third block of Ranchers Daughter done this is the three I have done so far.

This is my little helper "Princess" she is missing my hand work !! she follows me all over the house where I sit she sits at my feet!  Unfortunately she is not the foot peddle for the sewing machine!! She keeps moving m  peddle over and when I put my foot down to go I get her  instead!!!

It was our 27th Wedding aniversary on the 25th of this month  these are the lovely flower my Hubby brought home to me!  Here is a picture of the green rose he had included with it!!  He also brought home a beautiful card and a steak dinner!!  He did good this year!!

Well I hope you all have a great week.

until next time

1.21.13

Morning Everyone! (1.21.13)

Had a busy weekend. Went shopping with Hubby and stocked up a lot of household items.! Paid for  the long shopping hours though pain in leg worse after all the walking and driving in truck!! But at least the cabinets look full.

Got the house mostly cleaned just have to dust and wash kitchen floor.

This week I will be working on ufo's all week long!! I knocked out a few already  this year but boy do I have a lot more to get done.  I have nearly caught up with Esther's forget me not blocks a few more to get prepped then I can get them sewn.

Yesterday I finished the  backs for funky chicken and country cottages and got things ready for a baby quilt that my mother started before Kyle was born ( he will be 21 yrs next month!!)
Today I am going to tackle the Wedding quilt I started for him  from a Bom in 2009  It was the Baltimore Bliss pattern by Sindy Rodenmayer.  It is all hand applique it was fun making it just have to put it all together now.

I have a pile of quilts sitting now to take to the quilters but I have a few more to get done before a trip to see her.!

Wednesday 1.23.13

I forgot to post this the other day so I thought I would just add to it!!

I finished the Wedding quilt  and finished a  yellow lap quilt today. I have another of Esthers blocks prepped and today I am going to sit and prep the last two flowers and  then I can get them sewn over the weekend.!
I also finished a small afghan for Gizmo which she has promptly dragged off and hid in her hiddy hole!! I guess she liked it. I also finished up my country cottage quilt and it is also going to the quilters to have it done right.!!I will just add the photos in a row as there are a few. I hope you all have a great week. I have a few more ufo's to get working on  this next week I am trying for one project a day now as most are smaller ones left.

Hi everyone!!

It's a new year and this one I am determined to do ALL my ufos.  I joined a contest for it to help me keep inspired so we will see if I can actually get it done!!

I found a embroidery table clothe that had been sitting since I recieved it at about  age 20 approx 27 years ago!! and it was sitting in  the ladies ufo pile for a while before that!! It now sits beside me chair to work on off and on between other projects. Now if I can get new glasses so I can see what I am doing it might go faster!!!
I finished a few projects already.

We got a new truck as well!! It is a 2013 gmc sierra extended cab and I actually have the keys!! now if I can get the nerve to get behind he wheel again it has been soo many years since I drove . I'm not meant to drive right now with my leg until It gets looked at incase it locks up  on me but I have been told that I can use my left foot if I need to  but I am still nervous about it.  but it is pretty to look at !! and I know if I really need to go somewhere I can. Makes a big difference knowing that.  the poor equinox was really run down now that our son has stopped using it!!  He drove it everywhere and I do mean everywhere it got to the point he didn't ask anymore just took it!!  this one he doesn't have keys for and I'm not allowed to give them to him unless he has to take me somewhere or do something for me.!!!  This year we decided it was time for us to have us time again Kyle will be 21 years in Febuary can't believe it is that time already !! so it's our time now!!  Yeah I hear you all laughing but we will see how it works out!!! especially as he is still living here!!!!

I am working on putting together my  country cottage quilt yesterday and today hopefully I will get it done.
I finally got back into my work drawers and got Esthers forget me not back out. I am on the Tulips  I have the tulip applique ready and half pinned so will get that ready today as well.  I have the  freezer paper ready for the others and I will work the next few days getting them ready for applique over the weekend.!!  I was actually shocked when I realized my hand sewing box was EMPTY!   I also dug out a crochet afghan for Gizmo that I started last year well I should say the year before that!!  It is orange and brown It is also by my chair for night time work.

And lastly  I decided I needed to set aside some reading time again with an actual book! I have a book shelf filled with ones I wanted to read but I haven't got around to it so I have a pair of cheaters of hubbys to help me with the print for now so I have the first book sitting started again!

Well I know this has been long but I've missed talking to you all.  I get to sit today off and on and catch up with eveyones posts Love to sit with a cup of tea and read them.
I h ope everyone has a great new year this year and good health to go with it.

All the best until we talk again!!

Jennifer
