Hi there,

May 1st already this year is flying past!

It doesn't seem like I got much done this week but it has all been hand work and slow work!

My son started a new shift at work so he is in the house now until 11.30 am so my working schedule is all messed up. I will have to get in the swing of things soon.   Lets see this week I made my Ranchers Daughter block from last week .

got a picture for  an xmas gift put on material for embroidery and onto a hoop. I did  get the house cleaned and the wash all done already so I am ahead on that. Yesterday I  finished pinning the rest of  Forget Me Knots fancy work  have the name plates embroidered just have to sew them on. Hope ot have it all done by the next  WIP  so here's hoping.

Out telephone is not working right now so have a repair man coming today to fix the problem.  My Grandmother in Scotland is having fits as she can't just pick up the phone and talk right now. she is  96 yrs old and not able to walk anymore so she sits with a phone at her side and when she gets lonely she calls just to hear a voice. I have been calling her on my cell phone a few times a day but she won't believe me that it doesn't cost too much and won't stay talking!!

Well I will go now and get some more rest before the repair man gets here.

Morning everyone!!  I can't believe we have gone through another month already!  This year is just flying past..

I have been working on the Forget Me knots all week it has been slow going but  I'll get them done!!
I had some problems with the archways but I think I have them figured out now.  I have the  fancy parts of the blocks all ready for sewing now and the name plates just need names embroidered on them hopefully I will get this quilt done by the end of next month!!! I was hoping for the end of this one but I don't think I will make it!!

I started winding my embroidery threads again.. I didn't realize how many I had siting around not  boxed I need to get more winding boards Hubby bought a small pkt at walmarts for me and thought that would be enough until he came home and saw the pile of threads waitng!  I need to get at least 600 more!!LOL 

I joined a swap  for a christmas stocking. It has a gift for every month and they are themed gifts.  I have the stocking made and one gift but boy I need to get a move on and work on the rest or I will actually miss this deadline!  I keep finding different crafts to make for it and can't decide what to do for each month.  I will have to just sit down and do it the old fashioned way and make a list!! 

The weather here with us this week is crazy again. We had been up in the 80's now it is  back down to  64 high and 40's low back to heater weather. Plus it is supposed to rain all the way until  not this friday but the next. I dread to see the grass when it can finally get cut again We will have to watch out for snakes in the front from the water. thats the only thing I hate about this time of year   the snakes get too active  and come looking for food and water at the pond. Really think the pond will have to go this year but Hubby still not ready to let it go. Maybe if I get him a new fish tank for inside the house he will let the goldfish  come inside and get rid of the pond!!!

Well I need to get a move on this morning and  get some work done. I have also been updating address book and birthdays ect. It took me 6 hours yesterday to get most of it done even the password book  now just the internet sites to list  and get the bill folder re done with addresses and acounts. I should have had all this kept up over the year but I got lazy now need to get it done before Hurricane time just in case I have to grab and run they say we are expected to have a bad year this year so need to actually get things ready.

Hi everyone!

I have been busy getting things caught up this week.  I started to work on my forget me knots and had problems with the templets    turned out to be the printer settings set wrong. I got that fixed and  started working on the arch boarder I managed to get three ready to sew for today. Later today I will see about getting the next six ready and then I will sew them over the weekend.

I am working on my Ranchers Daughter block for this week should have it done here in a little while.

I nearly finished my Spring quilt swap just the name  patch to put on and get it all washed.

I also made a x-mas stocking for a swap just need to get the hand work done on it.

Over the weekend my husband helped me get the  bathroom and bedroom sorted back out. After his shower install  we still had wall paneling to re hang ( had to take it down to get to the plumbing) and all the pics to be re hung so after that was done he vacumed the ceilings and  moved the bed    and chest of drawers to do under them as well.  amazing what you can find when you do that!!  rooms look and smell so much better now!!

Afterwards we went out side and  I helped him to get the gardens started. we weeded the beds that  we have completed and then put down what mulch we had, took away walkway and some of the old surrounds to re shape the garden made it easier for him to cut with a mower instead of a  weed eater. will miss the large garden but I am not able to keep it up and he doesn't have the time.  We will have more to do on it but it will have to wait until next month when we have a little extra money  this month is all gone on the shower.

My fairy tree rose came up good this year where I planted it.  I was allowed to keep one. I used to have a whole bed with just these but hubby hated them where they were and finally talked me into giving them away BIG mistake I really miss them but we felt they were too dangerous for Daisy our blind dog  to get around she kept walking into them and I know they hurt so away they went.!!!

The Crype Myrtle trees are doing good as well one is full of greenery and the other is at least alive!! can't wait until they come out in full bloom.

My son got a new job , He will start on Monday still working on 18 wheelers (mechanic)  but the pay is better  he will work the mid shift again though so not so good for my routine but thats ok I will get used to it again. 2pm-11pm  .  Hubby talked about changing jobs he was offered one with really good pay and hours but they still haven't called him back to go do the rest of the paper work so don't know if he will go or not scared to let the medical insurance go for awhile with the way our health is the new company won't have insurance for  90  days  and we will have to change the life ins back to portable so we will see what he decides later this week.   I think it is just spring fever got him again this year!!! He always talks about changing them when push come to shove he  stays put!! Got to love em for getting us  worried though!!

Hi everyone,
Just have to say I love the pictures of Esthers Forget Me knot quilts I have been seeing. They have been coming out lovely.!  I finally finished my last block this week and I plan on putting it together next week.

I have been busy this week doing odd work  I finished the block of the week for Ranchers Daughter

I got my quilts back from the Mrs Lowe our Local Quilter and boy did she do a great job on them

this is the Baltimore Bliss quilt I made for his wedding quilt to be stored until such time!!! I figures I would have a hard time hand sewing by the time he decides to get married to made it now and will keep in the cedar chest with the others I made for him

While I was playing catch up this week Kyle took care of the chickens and the geese he got trapped in the chicken pen when he went inside he didn't notice the large snake in  the nest until he turned around to leave and couldn't get past it luckily Dad was home and passed him the shovel to kill it.  Now it is his job to tend the birds after work every day!! I don't do snakes!!!

Here is a picture of My husband with poor Princess she is in heat right now cletus (male dog),Gizmo and Mocha the cat as well as Princess don't go to be spayed and neutured until July when they have discount month so this has b een a fun few weeks!!

Over the weekend we had to install a new shower in our bathroom. the men folk were at work and I had my shower when the faucet flew off and hit me in the face I fell in the shower and was knocked out when I woke up with the dog pulling at me the bahroom was flooded!  I had to run to the neighbors in my bright pink terry robe to get them to turn the water off for me at the main as I couldnt find pliers . What  a mess I had to clean up but now we have a new one in place and we just have to get the paneling put back up in bedroom and the trim work and wall pictures so hopefully we will get that done this weekend.   My husband is getting ready to change jobs he is a welder and had been offered a 6 year job on a new construction (plant work) job for more money less hours which would give us the weekends together finally again. I miss having him home at the weekends the week can be so long when you just have the computer and the  animals for company.

Well I guess now that I have bored your ears off  I should go and get my first cup of tea for the day and get some work done.!!  Hope you all have a great week!!

Spring swap started

It doesn't look like much when I show them here but it did take me awhile to get done!!!Today I am waiting for my new laptop to come fedex. Hubby got it as an early birthday and mothers day for me which isn't until May but couldn't beat the price!!  I hope I will be able to figure it out as it has windows 8 and I have heard talk about it being complicated  so here's hoping!!  We got cherry red so hopefully my son won't take off with it!!   I did get all my finished quilt tops into the quilter as well so can't wait to get them back.  I bought some cat panels the other day from ebay as well enough to make a lap quilt for myself looking forward to getting that in the mail as well.

Hi everyone!

I have finally been able to get my house in order again these past few weeks so now I am back to working on my crafts!!

This week I have gone back over my UFO list I have a few more that I have found this month to add and a couple finally done!!

I finished this one of my sons. He started this wall quilt years ago when he had more time to do h is quilting but he never had time to finish it so he asked me to do it for him so he could hang it in his room.  It came out pretty good ! He designed it himself and he did the top and had the back already half done so I just had to do the finishing and  tying then put on a sleeve. 

This is a wonderful set of egg holders that I recieved from my swap buddy for March !  Aren't they cute! they have little bug buttons on them all as well.

I have been working on my granny square swap for april already as well only two more of them to get finished unless anyone else signs up before they are do!!
